Stephen Bishop offers a tailored approach to helping people to feel better and to take steps towards what they want in life. Combining the most suitable skills a range of styles, from his person-centred roots 24 years ago, to the powerful Generative and Eye-Movement methods of recent years, his mission is to help each person achieve a good and lasting improvement in their lives.
Each of us needs an approach to suit us, for example, on the one hand Stephen has particular success helping to resolve unhelpful thought patterns or memories; at the same time, issues that some consider to be small, such as interview nerves, lacking energy, or indecisiveness, can in fact all have a major impact on our lives, and when such problems are addressed as part of the whole person, the result is a more powerful change for the better.
Stephen’s experience runs from his young days, running the volunteer UEA Nightline service in 1991, through 10 years in teaching, including frontline pastoral care roles. During a spell with chronic fatigue, he found that NLP is a powerful way of making people better and successful, himself included! After recovering, and becoming an NLP Master Practitioner in 2006, he moved to parallel successes in both NLP and education, his teaching rated Outstanding in 2011, whilst also training other teachers, with Sue Bayliss, in a new NLP for Teachers course, presenting the results 2 years running at the NLP Conference in London. As suggested by the extensive research of McGilchrist, Goleman, and the pioneering work of Gilligan, the mind can discover and achieve so much more when suitably assisted by such things as mindfulness, positivity and good humoured warmth. Stephen also likes to be up front about costs, offering sessions for £40 per hour, and sessions of 60 or 90 minutes as required. A small no-obligation conversation, where you can meet, talk or telephone and see if it is right for you, can be arranged, by passing your details to Susan at the NWC; Stephen feels it is important to choose the best approach for you, and so this conversation is for free.
