Stillness Touch

Stillness Touch

“There is a place within us where there are no more goals to reach, no more roads to travel, no more maps to follow, no more philosophies to create, no more strategies to construct. In this place within, there is peace and stillness, and with that, a fulfilment which has always been there.”

– C.G. Deuter

“Be Still and Know”

– William G. Sutherland

Developed by Charles Ridley Stillness Touch is a branch of Biodynamic Craniosacral work which stays true to the final teachings of William Garner Sutherland, the founder of Cranial Osteopathy, in which the practitioner “simply” holds space for the body’s own wisdom and inherent treatment plan to work freely to restore health & wholeness.

While the recipient, where possible, lies comfortably and fully clothed on a massage table, the practitioner makes a very gentle touch contact somewhere on their body and abides in a meditative space which can be described as Stillness or Presence. This invites the recipient to drop into this space too, a space of deep rest which is always within them, a space in which they are received and simply allowed to be as they are. This is the space where a recipient’s inherent treatment plan can work freely and re-orientation to health & wholeness happens.

Stillness Touch / Craniosacral work has been found to be highly effective for people with a wide variety of conditions and states of relative wellness as it brings about greater alignment, balance, vitality, clarity, relaxation, connection and wellbeing. Changes have been experienced on different levels, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual.

The work is so gentle and non-invasive that it is suitable for everyone from babies to elders, whatever condition they find themselves in. Each person has an experience unique to them.
