Introduction to Counselling Children and Young People

Workshop content:

• BACP competencies and identifying subject areas from the BACP CYP curriculum
• Ethical and Professional Practice
• Child Protection, Safeguarding & Risk Assessment
• Beginnings and Endings with CYP
• Self-Awareness and Self-Care of the Counsellor

The course will involve theory, and reinforce learning through group and pair/triad work.

This workshop constitutes 7 hours of CPD and includes a Certificate of Attendance, resources, and reading list.

Refreshments are provided (but not lunch).

Katherine Caffrey MPACP (accred)

Following a career in education, I gained a Diploma in Counseling in February 2011. In 2014 I achieved BACP accreditation and also completed a Diploma in Counselling Supervision. In addition, I completed a Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People in December 2015, following the SPICC model (sequentially planned integrative counselling for children).
